Bellefield House
Originally built as a hunting lodge, Bellefield House has undergone a variety of changes in its 200 or so year lifetime. In the 1950s and 60s it was well known as Bellefield Stud and bred many well known horses of the time.
After this the outbuildings went into decline and in 2004 it was purchased and restored by the late architect Angela Jupe.
She spent the last 17 years of her life restoring the house, gardens and outbuildings to what many recognise today. When Angela passed away in 2021 she bequeathed Bellefield to the RHSI, with the wish that they would become their training gardens.
Once a vast estate of 1000 acres Bellfield now is a much more modest but still large 28 acres. This includes a 1.8 acre wall garden as well as pasture, woodland, plantation and some bog.

Each day you will be provided with a hearty breakfast,lunch and an evening meal, either out on tour or at Bellefield House.
We love supporting our local farmers and food producers.

The rooms at Bellefield House
This elegant estate blends modern convenience with classic charm, offering an exceptional layout designed for both relaxation and grand entertaining.
At the heart of the home’s living spaces is a sophisticated drawing room featuring a beautiful fireplace and scenic views of the snowdrop garden, complemented by a cozy ante room complete with large sofas and a TV.
The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences and looks out toward the beautiful Orangerie.
Practicality meets luxury with a fully equipped laundry room—complete with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron board, and fresh linen tailored for a capacity of 12 guests.
A week stay includes exclusive, private access to the entire estate, house, and gardens.
